Woodstock student 'hand-picked' for provincial practical nursing board.
Janice Dryburgh, a second-year Practical Nursing student at Fanshawe's Woodstock/Oxford Regional Campus, has been appointed by the Board of Directors of the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO) to their ex-officio student board position for a one-year term. Janice was chosen for her exemplary leadership skills and her vision for nursing and nursing students.
"Janice was hand-picked by the Executive Director of the RPNAO after receiving her Education Bursary application in which she very eloquently described the nursing scope of practice," said program coordinator Jennifer Black. "We are very proud of Janice and her accomplishments."
While on the Board of Directors, Janice will have the opportunity to fully experience the professional association pillar of nursing; nursing and health care advocacy at the provincial level; and the role of governance in a not-for-profit setting. She will be provided with leadership education such as strategic planning, professional practice and collaborative leadership.
"Janice is a quiet but influential leader and she accomplishes this in a way that is truly exemplary," said Black. "She is going to be a wonderful nurse."
More information about Janice can be viewed on the RPNAO website.
