Fanshawe College will partner with Dundas Place to host a celebration of Canadian music, food and fun on Friday, March 15, 2019, from noon to 6 p.m., coinciding with JUNO week (March 11 to 17).
Fanshawe Live: Dundas Place will be the first-ever community event on the completed portion of Dundas Street—the city's newest flex street. All members of the local community, along with Fanshawe staff, students and alumni, are invited to attend.
This free, family-friendly celebration will include live performances by Fanshawe Music Industry Arts students and graduates; feature JUNO inspired culinary dishes at The Chef's Table, the College's hands-on teaching restaurant; and delight attendees with games, giveaways and more.
“We are excited to showcase Fanshawe's new downtown campus and our talented students, staff and alumni,” said Dave Schwartz, executive director of Fanshawe's Reputation and Brand Management. “Hosting the JUNO Awards in London is an incredible opportunity for our city and Fanshawe is going to welcome all attendees in style.”
“What an incredible way to celebrate phase one of Dundas Place being complete,” said Savanah Sewell, manager of Dundas Place. “Working with Fanshawe on this event is just the beginning of what we can do on Dundas Place. Having the students and staff in our neighbourhood add such vibrancy and Fanshawe Live: Dundas Place will really showcase that.”
The Chef's Table will feature appetizers prepared by culinary students that will be inspired by various JUNO nominees' favourite dishes. Featured appetizers will be available for a $2 donation to MusiCounts, Canada's music education charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
