Fanshawe is proud to announce that Cheryl McMurray, Executive Assistant to the President, has been recognized with the 2017 Award for Professional Achievement from Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan).
The award was presented by CICan's Governance and President's Office Professionals (GPOP), an association of administrative staff who serve alongside the executive leaders and board members of Canada's colleges and institutes.
"The Award for Professional Achievement recognizes current and past members who have made significant contributions to the realm of higher education or who have achieved professional success due, in part, to their experiences as a governance and/or president's office professional," according to the GPOP website.
In addition to her 27 years' experience serving the College's executive team, Cheryl is a longtime GPOP member and active member of the National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education (NAPAHE). In May 2016, she accepted a nomination to GPOP's 2016-19 Board of Directors, and commenced her first term the following month. Cheryl is currently serving as part of GPOP's 2016-17 Conference and Professional Development Committee.
The Award for Professional Achievement was presented Sunday, April 30 at GPOP's annual conference as part of the kick off to CICan's AGM in Ottawa.
