Alan Batt, faculty member in the Paramedic programs at Fanshawe College, has recently been awarded a research grant by the ZOLL Foundation, to conduct research into cardiac arrests. The ZOLL Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization founded by the ZOLL Medical Corporation to support research in resuscitation and acute critical care.
Batt, who was previously a research paramedic for a large ambulance service in the Middle East, has published several studies related to cardiac arrests in the United Arab Emirates. He will now lead a multinational author team, including Fanshawe staff, who will investigate cardiac arrests in the Arab Gulf region. This grant award is a significant achievement for Fanshawe College, which now joins several universities in Canada and the USA as recipients of ZOLL Foundation research funding.
