(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Women's Soccer team (9-0) moved up one spot and is now ranked #4 in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) National Rankings. Last week, the Women's Soccer team went 2-0, defeating the Mohawk Mountaineers (5-4) and the Lambton Lions (0-8-1) by scores of 1-0 and 3-0.  The Falcons continue to lead the OCAA West Division in goals for (41) and goals against (5).  Fanshawe is on the road this week for their final regular season game versus the St. Clair Saints (7-1-1) on Tuesday, October 18 at 6pm.  Fanshawe has already captured the OCAA West Division title and will get a bye to the OCAA Provincial Championship starting Thursday, October 27.  Other Women's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Algonquin (2), Humber (10) and Seneca (15).

The Fanshawe Men's Soccer team (7-1-1) is now ranked #12, also climbing one spot.  The Falcons are still in first place in the OCAA West Division after going 2-0 last week with a 2-0 win over Mohawk (4-4-1) and a 2-1 road victory over Lambton (3-6).  Fanshawe will head to Windsor on Wednesday, October 19 to determine first place in the OCAA West Division standings versus the #10 ranked St. Clair Saints (7-1-1).  The winner will get a bye to the OCAA Provincial Championship, while the loser will need to play in a cross-over playoff game. Other Men's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Humber (1) and Algonquin (3).

Both of the Fanshawe Cross Country teams were ranked nationally this week as well, with the Men coming in at #2 and the Women at #12.  The Men's team is coming off three straight OCAA Invitational Tournament Team Championships, with lead runner Seth Marcaccio finishing with two golds and one bronze individually.  On the Women's side, both Stacey Andrews and Morgan Hendriks have been consistently finishing races in the top 10.  Both teams will look to make some noise at the OCAA Cross Country Provincial Championships on Saturday, October 29 at Seneca College.  The Women's race begins at 11am and the Men start at 12pm.
