(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Falcons have three varsity teams that are ranked in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) top 15.

 

The Men's Volleyball squad (15-0) are ranked #2 in the country this week and continue to be #1 in the OCAA. The Falcons swept the St. Clair Saints (8-8) on the road last week to extend their OCAA regular season winnnig streak to 28 matches. Fanshawe will travel to Niagara to take on the Knights (9-7) on Wednesday, February 7. Other OCAA Men's Volleyball teams that are represented in the CCAA rankings include Humber (7), Redeemer (8) and Georgian (10).

 

The Women's Basketball team (13-2) moved up four spots to #11 in the nation this week after defeating the University of Toronto Mississauga Eagles (5-11) 96-45 on Friday evening at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre. Fanshawe will continue their home stand on Wednesday, February 7, when they face the St. Clair Saints (10-5) at 6pm. Other OCAA Women's Basketball teams that are represented in the CCAA rankings include Humber (1) and Mohawk (14).

 

The Fanshawe Badminton team is ranked #13 in Canada. The Falcons had a successful event at the OCAA West Regionals last weekend hosted by University of Toronto Mississauga. Riley Hogan (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) finished in first place in Women's Singles and Sahil Sahil (India) finished in first place in Men's Singles. The Men's Doubles team of San Dang and Allan Pao, who are both London natives, went 4-2 on the weekend, good for third place. They will all represent Fanshawe at the OCAA Badminton Provincial Championships. The Championships will take place on February 16-17 at Mohawk College in Hamilton. Other OCAA teams that are ranked include Humber (1), George Brown (4), University of Toronto Mississauga (7), and Georgian (10).
