Fanshawe teams win two prizes at urban design competition.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in Fanshawe's first-ever college and university urban design competition on March 21, 2015.

The design submissions addressed the redevelopment of the Old Victoria Hospital lands and surrounding neighbourhood along the south branch of the Thames River between Wellington Street and Adelaide Street in London.

 

The competition received 24 submissions from across the province. Twelve teams were selected to present their submission. The first three prizes were selected by a jury of independent professionals and the fourth prize was selected by everyone participating in the event.

First prize winning teamFirst Place $2,000: Team IMBUE from Carleton University, Architectural Studies Ottawa.
Students: Ranee Leung, Rui Zou, and Michelle Blom.

Second prize winning teamSecond Place $1,000: Team Catalyst from Fanshawe College, Integrated Land Planning Technologies, London.
Students: Michelle Lu, Stephanie Chalmers, Dan Murphy.

Third prize winning teamThird Place $500: Team Riverlands from Guelph University, Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Guelph.
Students: Sara De Korte, Lisa Van Huyse, Taylor Kirsh.

People's Choice award winnersPeople's Choice Award $500: Team Thames Vista from Fanshawe College, Integrated Land Planning Technologies, London.
Students: Cailey Bradshaw, Dave Cowherd, Alex D'Ariano, Sandra Viviana Murillo Morales, Eric Nemeth.
