(New Westminster, BC) – On Saturday night in front of a packed gym, the #2 CCAA nationally ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team defeated the host Douglas College Royals in three straight sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-22) to win the CCAA National Bronze Medal.  This is the first time in Fanshawe's history that a men's volleyball team has captured a national medal. Fanshawe's libero David Gundrum (Port Elgin, ON) was named the Player of the Game with 22 digs in the match.

The Falcons had a fantastic tournament, finishing 3-1 with wins over the Keyano Huskies, Mohawk Mountaineers and finally the Douglas Royals.  For their phenomenal play throughout the tournament, Fanshawe's James Jackson (London, ON) was named a First Team Championship All-Star, while Gundrum was named a Second Team Championship All-Star.
