(London, Ontario) – Four Fanshawe Falcons are currently participating in the 2017 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings Curling Championships at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa from December 2-10. The Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings will decide the four-player teams that will represent Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in February in Pyeongchang, South Korea.


Fanshawe Curling Head Coach Barry Westman, along with Fanshawe Falcons alumni Rachelle Vink, Tess Bobbie and Chantal Duhaime are members of Team Tippin. Westman, who has been coaching the Falcons Curling team since 2011, is the Head Coach. Third Chantal Duhaime, curled for Fanshawe from 2010-2012 and has two OCAA bronze medals, one CCAA gold medal and a CCAA All-Star award. Second Rachelle Vink and Lead Tess Bobbie were members of the 2014-15 Fanshawe Curling team that won OCAA and CCAA gold. Vink was also named a CCAA All-Star. Other members of Team Tippin include Skip Julie Tippin and Alternate Sherry Middaugh.


In the tournament so far, Team Tippin is 1-1, defeating Team Sweeting 7-3 before falling to Team Homan 8-7. Their next draw will be Monday, December 4 at 7pm against the undefeated Team Jones. For the full schedule and more information, see the Roar of the Rings website: .
