Globally, more than 159,000 students from 182 institutions worldwide – including 11 Ontario colleges – participated in the ISB survey, conducted by United Kingdom-based firm i-graduate International Insight. The most recent results come from students surveyed in fall 2016. At Fanshawe, 1,322 students responded, comprising about 53 per cent of Fanshawe's international student population.
This is the seventh year Fanshawe students have participated in the ISB, ranking the College among the top six in the world and among the top three in the province each year.
"Fanshawe is committed to providing a premier learning, student life and career preparation experience," says Fanshawe President Peter Devlin. "We work hard to ensure our international students have an exceptional time studying at Fanshawe and living in London. Year after year, these promising results show that our faculty and staff are doing a great job meeting their needs."
In 2015, improvements to the College's welcome, orientation, settlement and social activities helped contribute to increased satisfaction results in the arrival category. This year, the College continued to enhance arrival and settlement services and expand its Peer-to-Peer program, which connects local students with new international students.
"Fanshawe's Career Centre provided me excellent help in interview skills, resumé-writing and advice to get a good job. Also, the Learning Centre has excellent professionals to help students solve any questions related to their studies and has an excellent environment," said Josue Tao Chin Chou, a Brazilian student studying in level two of Fanshawe's Chemical Laboratory Technology - Science Laboratory advanced diploma.
