(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Women's Soccer team (9-0-1) is now ranked #5 in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) National Rankings. Last week, the Women's Soccer team tied the St. Clair Saints 1-1 to keep Fanshawe undefeated on the season. The Falcons won the OCAA West Division and are now heading to the OCAA Provincial Championship starting Thursday, October 27. In the quarter-final, Fanshawe will take on the Cambrian Golden Shield (10-2) at 9am. Other Women's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Algonquin (2), Seneca (12) and Humber (14).
The Fanshawe Men's Soccer team (7-1-2) moved up again and is now ranked #11, the highest they have been ranked this season. The Falcons finished the regular season in a tie atop the OCAA West Division standings with the #10 ranked St. Clair Saints (7-1-2) after a 0-0 draw versus them last Wednesday, October 19. Fanshawe became the second seed in the division because of goal differential and headed to Sheridan for a crossover playoff game on Sunday. The Falcons won the game 3-1 and are now headed to the OCAA Men's Soccer Provincial Championship hosted by Redeemer College. Fanshawe's first game takes place on Thursday, October 27 at 2:30pm versus the #3 ranked Algonquin Thunder (10-0).
