CCAA Rankings

(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Women's Soccer team moved up another spot to #5 in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) National Rankings this week. Last week, the Women's Soccer team (6-0) defeated the Conestoga Condors (1-5) by a score of 9-0 to stay undefeated on the year.  The Falcons continue to lead the OCAA West Division in goals for (32) and goals against (1). Up next, the Falcons are at home Tuesday, October 4 at 5pm versus the undefeated St. Clair Saints (5-0-1).  Other Women's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Algonquin (2), Humber (10) and St. Clair (15). 

 

The Fanshawe Men's Soccer team (5-1) moved up one spot to #13 this week after defeating the Conestoga Condors (0-5-1) by a score of 3-0.  The Falcons will have their greatest test so far this season on Wednesday, October 5 at 5pm, when Fanshawe hosts the St. Clair Saints (5-1).  Both teams are tied atop the OCAA West Division with the winner taking sole possession of first. Other Men's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Humber (1), Algonquin (3) and St. Clair (10).

 

In the first edition of the CCAA National Rankings for Cross Country this year, both the Fanshawe Men's and Women's Cross Country teams made the list. 

 

The Men's team came in at #2 in the country.  In the two OCAA races so far this year, the men have won both events, with lead runner Seth Marcaccio finishing with an individual gold and bronze.  Other Men's Cross Country teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Humber (5), Mohawk (7) and the University of Toronto – Mississauga (9).

 

The Women's team came in at #8, with only the Humber Hawks (#4) and the Conestoga Condors (#7) ranked higher from the OCAA.  In Fanshawe's two OCAA races, the Falcons have finished third and second as a team.  Stacey Andrews has finished in sixth and third place individually for Fanshawe.  Other Women's Cross Country teams in the OCAA that are ranked include St. Clair (13) and Georgian (15).
