(London, Ontario) – On Tuesday night, the Fanshawe Men's Basketball team (4-2) won their fourth straight OCAA game, defeating the St. Clair Saints (4-1) by a final score of 86-77.  Fanshawe is tied for second place in the OCAA West Division with eight points.

Fanshawe scored the first basket of the game but then the Saints scored nine straight. Fanshawe's Chris Parker stopped the run on a nice take to the basket but St. Clair's defense was collapsing on the Falcons anytime they took the ball in the paint.  Fanshawe continued to pound the ball inside and after closing the gap to three, Parker knocked down a three pointer from the top of the arc to tie the game at 18.  St. Clair hit a runner as the quarter ended and led 21-18 heading to the second.  The Saints started the second on a 7-0 run.  Fanshawe chipped away and with four minutes left in the quarter, a three pointer from the corner by Jake Price cut the lead to five.  At the half, the Saints led 46-41 with Fanshawe's Parker leading the Falcons in scoring with 13.

Early foul trouble by Fanshawe and St. Clair in the third put both teams in the bonus with seven minutes left in the quarter.  The Falcons closed the gap to two and then a layup by Fanshawe's Moses Orozco-Rayo with four minutes left in the third tied the game at 55.  Free throws were the story of the second half of the quarter, with the teams combining for 23 free throws taken.  At the end of the third, St. Clair led 62-59.  The Saints continued to lead until the three minute mark when Price knocked down yet another corner three pointer to put the Falcons ahead 73-71.  Fanshawe played fantastic defense down the stretch finishing the game on a 16-6 run as the Falcons came back to win by a final score of 86-77.
