(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Women's Basketball team (7-1) defeated the Sheridan Bruins (2-7) by a score of 68-25 at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre on Saturday afternoon.


Fanshawe came out strong to start the game, using defensive pressure to force Sheridan into numerous turnovers. Falcons' player Victoria Racine hit a nice jumper from the baseline at the buzzer to give Fanshawe a 24-point lead after the first quarter. The Falcons held the Bruins to only three points in the second quarter, and were up by a score of 41-7 at half time.


Fanshawe's scoring slowed down in the third quarter, as the Bruins battled to stay within reach. The Falcons then picked up the intensity in the final frame with big shots by Kaleigh Morris and Jacoby Sanchez. Fanshawe went on to win their last home game of the semester by a final score of 68-25.


Fanshawe's Top Performers:

Victoria Racine – 14 points, 4 assists

Kaleigh Morris – 12 points, 9 rebounds


Sheridan's Top Performer:

Dainique Campbell – 10 points


On Tuesday, December 1, the Falcons will travel to face the Mohawk Mountaineers (5-2) at 6pm.
