(London, Ontario) – It was a full house on Wednesday night at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre for the Fanshawe Men's Basketball home opener. The Falcons fell to the Redeemer Royals by a score of 83-71.
Redeemer took the early 13-3 lead in the first quarter, using quick ball movement to create scoring opportunities. The Falcons then closed the gap, with a couple strong drives by forward Bailey Burton. Fanshawe's Connor Therrien knocked down a key 3-pointer with seven seconds left in the opening quarter to bring the Falcons within two points of the Royals. Redeemer had a strong second quarter, outscoring the Falcons 21-8 to go into the dressing room with a 38-23 lead.
Fanshawe brought the score within seven points in the third, with offensive contributions from Falcons Ousmane Kromah and Oshane Daley. Fanshawe stepped up the defensive pressure in the fourth, bringing the Falcons within three points. However, Fanshawe was unable to complete the comeback, and lost by a final score of 83-71.

Connor Therrien – 21 points, 9 rebounds
Redeemer's Top Performer:
Rayvon Higdon – 24 points, 8 rebounds
The Falcons next game will be at home against the Lambton Lions (1-1) this Saturday, October 31 at 3pm.
