(London, Ontario) – At the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre on Saturday afternoon, the Fanshawe Men's Basketball team (0-2) fell to the Lambton Lions (2-1) by a score of 85-81.
Lambton took the early lead in the first quarter, forcing the Falcons to call a quick timeout. Both teams traded baskets for the remainder of the quarter and the Lions led 17-12 after the first. Lambton started the second quarter with a run, going up by nine. The Falcons trailed by six at half time, 39-33.
The third quarter featured Fanshawe's Connor Therrien and Lambton's Jason Marshell exchanging threes. Falcon's player Ousmane Kromah hit a huge 3-pointer to cut Lambton's lead to 59-56 going into the final quarter. Kromah started the fourth with a strong baseline drive that brought the Falcons within one point. The Falcons used their momentum to take the lead with a huge bucket by Rey Carnakie. Unfortunately for the home team, the Lions came back to win it 85-81.
Fanshawe's Top Performers:
Ousamane Kromah – 23 points, 6 rebounds
Rey Carnakie – 18 points, 9 rebounds
Lambton's Top Performer:
Jason Marshell – 26 points, 6 rebounds
The Falcons will face the Humber Hawks (0-2) at home next Saturday, November 7, at 3pm.
