For a number of years now, Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) Ireland has worked with Fanshawe College, developing pathways for degree completion, student and academic exchange and general co-operation across studies in business, tourism and fashion.
For 2017/2018, in honour of the ever-closer ties between our two institutions, LIT has awarded Master of Business Degree scholarships to three Fanshawe graduates. We are thrilled to announce that Fanshawe Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Digital Marketing) graduates Kailey Van Der Spank, Jesse Borden and Thomas McHugh have been granted scholarships to continue their studies at the master's level at LIT. All three students will be travelling to Ireland later this summer to begin their master's degrees in Marketing and Management Strategy.
One of the scholarships is the highly prestigious Government of Ireland Scholarship, awarded annually to an Irish Institute of Higher Education in respect of programs that offer the highest skills value-add to prospective international students. Only the very best international applicants can receive these scholarships, which include a full waiver of tuition and registration fees as well as a stipend of €10,000 (approx. $15,000 CAD) to cover living expenses.
Fanshawe College has the particular honour of being the partner chosen by LIT to have one of its alumni benefit from this scholarship. Based on her special academic merit and personal achievement, Kailey Van Der Spank has been chosen by LIT as the beneficiary for the 2017/2018 academic year.
In recognition of the excellence of Fanshawe's applicants to their programs, LIT has also awarded further scholarships. On the merit of their high academic and personal achievements, Jesse Borden and Thomas McHugh have achieved scholarships granted by LIT for this master's program, amounting to a waiver of half their tuition and registration fees for the academic year.
Attached are photos of the recipients receiving their scholarship awards at Fanshawe's convocation ceremony on Wednesday, June 14. We wish Kailey, Jesse and Thomas an incredible year ahead. A very special thanks to LIT for making this extraordinary opportunity available to Fanshawe's first class of Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree students!
