Men's Volleyball

(London, Ontario) – Five members of the Fanshawe Falcons volleyball programs were honoured for their accomplishments this season as the OCAA handed out their 2015 league awards.

Jack Daley – OCAA West Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team: Daley earned the starting setter position in his first season with the Men's Volleyball team and helped lead them to the OCAA Provincial Championships. He finished the season with 481 total assists and 9 service aces to lead the Falcons.

Patrick Johnston – OCAA West Coach of the Year: In his second season with the Falcons, Johnston has once again been named the OCAA Men's Volleyball West Coach of the Year. This season, he led the Falcons to a league record of 12-6 in a tough West Division, good for third place in the OCAA West Division standings.

Derek Braun – OCAA Second Team All-Star: Fourth year middle blocker Braun led the Falcons with 3.1 points per set this season. He had both the most kills (131) and blocks (45) of anyone on the Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team.

Stephanie Bignell – OCAA Second Team All-Star: In her final season, Bignell led the Falcons in points per set (2.6). She also had an impressive 51 blocks on the season, second most of anyone in the OCAA. With her 51 blocks, Bignell became the OCAA's all-time leader in blocks with 239.

Darian Gropp – OCAA Second Team All-Star: Gropp was the ultimate utility player this season for the Falcons. She started the season as the team's setter but transitioned to an outside hitter at times because of her versatility on the court. She led Fanshawe in assists (238), service aces (25) and digs (184).

The Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team is currently at the OCAA Volleyball Provincial Championships at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. Their quarter-final matchup takes place on Friday, February 27th @ 3:30pm versus the Fleming Knights.
