(London, Ontario) – The #4 nationally ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (14-0) continued their winning ways on Saturday afternoon, as they swept the Niagara Knights (7-7) at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre. With the win, Fanshawe extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 26 games, with their last loss being on November 12, 2016.
The Falcons jumped out to a quick start, going up 5-1 in the first set with back-to-back kills from Will Otten (Delaware, ON). The Knights gradually made a come back to get within one point of Fanshawe, 19-18. Cole Jordan (London, ON), who is averaging a league best 4.9 points per set, put an end to Niagara's run with a monstrous kill. The Falcons won the opening set 25-20.
Fanshawe had hits from Zach Albert (Brampton, ON) and Jordan to take a two point lead in the second set. A big block from middle Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) excited the home crowd and extended the Falcons lead. The red and white would continue their aggressive attack, as Albert added his eighth point of the set. Fanshawe would go on to take the second set 25-17.
Fanshawe's well-rounded offense showed in the final set, as the Falcons had points from six different players. Will Otten had a service ace to put the Falcons ahead early in the set. Sebastian Lethbridge (London, ON) then made the score 9-5 on a stuff block. Sam Otten (London, ON) added a pair of service aces to stretch Fanshawe's lead to 23-11. The Knights could not recover from the deficit, as the Falcons completed the three set sweep, winning the final set 25-13.

Niagara's Top Performer:
Elijah Bugiardini – 8 kills
Next up, Fanshawe will travel to Windsor on Thursday, February 1 to face the St. Clair Saints (8-6).
