(London, Ontario) – Three members of the Fanshawe basketball program were honoured for their play this season as the OCAA handed out their 2014 league awards.

Ali Vlasman –

First Team All-Star and All-Rookie Team: In her first season with the Falcons, Vlasman didn't look like a rookie, leading the Women's Basketball team with 14.0 points per game and shooting the ball at a blistering 53.9% from the field, the second highest percentage in the OCAA.

Chavaun Miller-Bennett –

Second Team All-Star: In his second season with the Men's Basketball team, Miller-Bennett led the Falcons with 13.2 points per game on the season. He was named OCAA Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week of February 25, 2014 after scoring 24 points in Fanshawe's cross-over playoff game versus Centennial College.

Alex Thompson

– All-Rookie Team: In his first year with the Falcons, Thompson averaged 7.8 points per game and led the team with 2.6 assists per game. He started the majority of Fanshawe's games at point guard, helping guide the Falcons to an 11-7 record in the West Division.

Both teams are currently at the 2014 OCAA Provincial Championships. The Fanshawe women's quarter-final game takes place on Thursday, February 20

th @ 3:00pm versus the Algonquin Thunder at Mohawk College. The Fanshawe men's quarter-final game takes place on Thursday, February 27th @ 6:00pm versus the Mohawk Mountaineers at Sheridan College.
