This year's Police Foundations Volunteer Team (PFVT) is having another incredible year, providing hundreds of hours of support along with significant cash donations to the local surrounding communities. The team is led by two student co-coordinators, Shawn Munroe and Karley Soper. They lead a team of 24 first and second year students in Police Foundations and Protection Security & Investigations. Their continued support and contributions are making a difference in our community.

Contributions in the fall campaign included:

  • Clean up of Fanshawe College Boulevard and Ed Blake Park (both have been officially adopted through the city of London. Team members will provide a fall and spring clean each year.
  • Easter Seals – Road Hockey Tournament (assisted with security)
  • CIBC Run for the Cure (assisted with security)
  • Fanshawe Pioneer Village (Haunted Hayrides – assisted with security)
  • Donated $600.00 for the annual Mission Services of London Thanksgiving Drive
  • London Santa Clause Parade – Route Marshalls
  • Bake Sale – In support of Cancer (Donated $750.00)
  • Big Brothers and Sisters of Middlesex – Support
  • MADD – Fall Campaign
  • Salvation Army – Red Kettle Campaign (Donated $600.00 for Holiday Drive)
  • Salvation Army – Santa Shuffle

 

Their winter campaign is underway and they have made commitments to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Red Cross, Cops for Cancer, Race Against Drugs (support of local police services) this semester. The students will also be hold their annual spring clean up on Fanshawe College Blvd. and surrounding areas and Ed Blake Park.
