College Policy Manual changes (October 30, 2015)

Please be advised that the College is in the midst of a project to rationalize and reorganize College policies. The objectives of this project include:

  • Reducing the number of and content of policies to the minimum necessary to carry out College business in an effective and efficient fashion;
  • Revising policy language, tone, format and accessibility in ways that promote and support employee freedom to act in the achievement of policy objectives; and
  • Making it easier to locate and access a particular College policy.

Until replaced or rescinded, current policies remain accessible through the usual College web pages. When an updated policy (having a new policy number) is posted, the old policy will be removed/rescinded. The policy(ies) noted below have been reformatted, renumbered and re-styled, but do not include any substantive content change from the policy(ies) being replaced unless otherwise noted.

2-G-02: Student Appeal of a Decision Affecting Academic Standing or Progression.

Rescinded (Oct. 21, 2015)

The content of this policy is now covered in A128: Student Appeals.

2-G-03: Student Concerns and Complaints.

Rescinded (Oct. 21, 2015)

The content of this policy is now covered in A128: Student Appeals.

2-G-06: Appeal of a Decision Under Student Code of Conduct.

Rescinded (Oct. 21, 2015)

The content of this policy is now covered in A128: Student Appeals.

A128: Student Appeals.

New (Oct. 21, 2015, CC-15-02)
**Effective September 1, 2015**

This new policy replaces the appeal process in 13 other policies. This leaves only two policies (Residence Operations and Student Fees) with independent appeal processes – in both these cases, fairness requires a simple, expedited process that can address issues in a timely fashion. This policy was developed over the last year by the Academic Policy Review Working Group established by College Council.

The College Policy Manual is available on the Fanshawe website and Employee Portal. If you have trouble opening any of the files please contact Jackie Gray at 519-452-4430 ext. 4406.
