Mock emergency at London Campus, May 30, 2014.

On Friday, May 30, 2014, a mock emergency will take place at the northwest corner of the London Campus. “Project Impact” will involve dozens of community and emergency personnel both internal and external to Fanshawe and will be visible in parking lots 5 and 6 and around Peregrine House Residence (R2) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30  p.m.

The purpose of this exercise is to provide a real-life emergency scenario for both College and community officials to rigorously test specific elements of our emergency planning and management, including the guidelines, plan activation, and deployment of the Emergency Operations Control Group.

The mock emergency, involving more than 100 participants, will simulate an event involving multiple casualties at the northwest corner of the London campus. There will also be a significant presence of emergency vehicles and first responders in the immediate area of the exercise.

The event is not expected to impact normal traffic on adjacent roadways, however on-campus traffic will be re-routed in the area of Campus Drive, the north entrances of parking lots 5 and 6 and Peregrine House Residence (R2). Parking lots 5 and 6 will remain accessible by the south entrance, near the intersection of Alumni Road and London Lane.
