Fanshawe finalizes purchase of Kingsmill Building.

Fanshawe College today announced that it has waived conditions and is finalizing the purchase of the Kingsmill building. The College is also working to finalize a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design phase and expects to issue the RFP shortly.

"We're very excited about expanding our presence downtown," said Fanshawe President Peter Devlin. "The Centre for Digital and Performance Arts in the Howard W. Rundle Building has been a resounding success and we know that a London Downtown Campus is going to have a significant positive impact on the downtown with the energy of 2,000 students."

This is the second phase of downtown development for Fanshawe. When complete, this building will join the Howard W. Rundle Building across the street to complete its downtown campus. Both the School of Information Technology and the School of Tourism and Hospitality will move downtown, freeing up much needed space at the London main campus on Oxford Street, as the College continues to expand its programs and its number of students.

By 2018 when the building is at full occupancy, the College looks forward to seeing thousands of students in downtown on a daily basis. This is a unique opportunity to fundamentally change the character and face of Dundas Street and the College is excited to play an important role in that transformation.
