On Thursday, April 13, 2017, collections from upcoming graduate fashion designers will take off at Fanshawe College's Unbound fashion show. This year marks the 11th anniversary of the show and a brand-new venue at the Norton Wolf School of Aviation Technology.
Exploring the theme of "Craft and Machine," 18 graduating students of the Fashion Design program will debut their final collections at this high-profile event, featuring a pre-show cocktail hour and a New York-style runway show. The emerging designers have spent their final semester translating upcoming trends and a variety of thematic inspirations into their own five-look collections, ranging from casual and dressy daywear to outerwear and evening wear.
Through its success over more than a decade, Unbound has garnered a notable following both in the London community and amongst Toronto fashion industry leaders, including renowned Canadian fashion icons David Dixon and Franco Mirabelli. More than 300 people are expected to attend this year's event.
