Men's Baseball
November 1, 2016

(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics announced today, that Men's Baseball student-athlete Quinton Twohey (London, Ontario) has been named the lululemon Fanshawe Male Student-Athlete of the Month for October.

The Men's Baseball star had a historic October for the Falcons. Twohey was named the OCAA Men's Baseball Player of the Year and an OCAA League All-Star at the OCAA Championship Tournament back on October 20.  This marked the first time that a Fanshawe player has been named the OCAA Men's Baseball Player of the Year.  He hit .412 for the season with 21 hits, 19 runs scored and a team-high in RBIs (20) and stolen bases (8).  At the OCAA Championship, Twohey helped lead the Falcons to the OCAA silver medal and was named an OCAA Championship All-Star.  The team then went to the National College Baseball Championship, where the Falcons went 4-1 on their way to being crowned the 2016 National Champions.  This is the first National gold medal in the Program's brief three year history and marks the first time a Fanshawe league sport has won a National Championship in 35 years (Men's Basketball, 1980-81).

For his accomplishments, Twohey will receive an exclusive shopping experience catered to the student-athlete courtesy of lululemon Masonville.
