(London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon, the #13 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Women's Volleyball squad (6-1) defeated the Boréal Vipers (0-7) three sets to none.

The Falcons came out strong in the first set, with hits from Renee McCormick (Waterloo, ON) and rookie Katie Stewart (Gananoque, ON). Lindsay Wilcox (Waterdown, ON) then had a nice kill to continue the home team's momentum. The Falcons continued to soar, as their defense stifled the Viper's offense and Fanshawe took the set 25-10.

Fanshawe grabbed an early lead in the second set with a well-placed serve from Stewart. Tarea Heshka (Erin, ON) had an outstanding kill to spark the Falcons offense. London native, Lynda McArdle continued the offensive pressure with a kill of her own. Darian Gropp (Kitchener, ON) then recorded her second service ace of the game. Despite Boréal's best efforts, the Falcons would go on to win the set 25-16.

The Falcons had back-to-back kills from McCormick and Kim Hardy (Melbourne, ON) to start the third set. A great dig by Gropp that resulted in a Wilcox point extended Fanshawe's lead to 17-8. The Falcons would take the match with a 25-10 third set win.
