The applicant will be advised of the decision on her or his application after February 4th and for over-subscribed programs by the third week in March for level one applications. We will send you a paper package with our decision on your application. Read the letter and everything in the package very carefully. Everything you need to know is in the package. Did you lose yours? Contact the Registrar's Office.

NOTE:  Dates may vary by program. Please refer to the individual program page on our website.
** We continue to make admission decisions up to and including the second week of classes.

Offers are conditional

All offers of admission from Fanshawe College are conditional. If you are current high school student, your offer is valid on the condition that you receive a high school diploma. For current high school students and all other applicants, your offer is valid on the condition that you is complete any missing admission requirements and receive the minimum grades required. For applicants in a Fanshawe College preparatory program (i.e. Pre-Health Science), your offer is valid on the condition that you finish your program with the required GPA. These are but three examples of conditions. Read your decision letter very carefully, the conditions in place for you are listed on your letter. If you have any questions, contact Admissions at advising@fanshawec.ca or 519-452-4277 (use the option “to speak with an Admissions and Pathways Advisor”).

The last date to submit proof of completion of any outstanding admission requirements is three weeks before classes begin. For current college or university applicants, GPA requirements must be completed by the end of the winter semester.

Applicants who are offered admission to a program, and who are attending a secondary school or a College ACE program at the time of admission, will be offered admission subject to the following conditions:

  • they must complete the program of studies or courses for which they are enrolled in accordance with the policies of their secondary school
  • any individual program requirements that are in process of being completed, must have final grades submitted three (3) weeks prior to the commencement of their program
  • they must provide evidence to the College three (3) weeks prior to the commencement of their program that they have completed the requirements for an OSSD or ACE Certificate

Applicants placed on a waiting list can view their relative wait list position through WebAdvisor after May 5. If any admitted applicants decline the offer of admission, or fail to register, replacements will be taken from the waiting list.

Applicants who are not offered admission to a program or placed on a waiting list are encouraged to discuss alternatives with an Advisor, located in the Advising Centre, Office of the Registrar, Room E1012 or by phone at (519) 452-4277.

Why would an offer of admission be revoked?

  1. The applicant did not confirm their offer of admission by the confirmation due date noted on the Decision Letter (May 1 for almost everyone).
  2. The applicant did not complete their outstanding admission conditions (i.e. didn't finish a course, finished the course, but the mark was too low, GPA in Pre-Health was less than 3.0, etc.).
  3. The applicant did not pay the non-refundable tuition deposit by the deadline (June 15 for fall term).

ALTERNATE INTAKE ADMIT
You are offered admission for the winter term. Due to the large number of applicants, selection has been made for the fall and winter terms. We are sorry that we are unable to admit you for the fall term at this time, but we do hope that you will accept our offer of admission for the winter term. If you have added your name to the wait list for this program for the fall term and a vacancy occurs, we will contact you.

You must ensure that you accept your alternate offer of admission by the confirmation due date as noted on the Decision Letter. The process to confirm online that you wish to accept the Alternate Intake Admit can be found under the Alternate Admit.

NOTE: If you receive more than one offer of admission, you may confirm acceptance for only ONEprogram from any ONE College. Confirming your acceptance to one program does not prevent you from remaining on wait lists for other programs.

NOT ADMITTED
You have not been selected for admission. This particular program is oversubscribed. Unfortunately, we cannot offer admission to all applicants. To find out what other programs are still open, we encourage you to visit www.fanshawec.ca/open.

PENDING
A decision on this program choice will be made within the next few weeks.

REVOKED
This offer has been revoked by the College. An offer of admission is withdrawn by the College if an applicant has not completed all outstanding admission conditions.

WAIT LIST
Although the program is currently filled, you have been offered a position on the wait list, subject to any outstanding admission requirements you may be completing. Please note it has been our experience that many applicants on wait lists are offered admission prior to the start of classes. Confirming your wait list offer does not prevent you from confirming and offer of acceptance to another program.

How do I let the college know that I want my name on the program wait list?
If you wish to accept the wait list position for this program, you can confirm this on WebAdvisor.

Early in the application process we sent you a letter with your username and password for WebAdvisor (online access to track your application status). With your username and password, log into WebAdvisor where you can confirm online. You must complete this process by the due date on your Decision Letter or we will assume that you are no longer interested and this program choice will be cancelled.

Once you have confirmed that you wish to be on the wait list, your approximate position on the wait list will be available on WebAdvisor by early May.

IMPORTANT NOTE
The College reserves the right to cancel, at any time, a program, course, program major or option, change the location and/or term in which a program or course is offered, or withdraw an offer of admission both prior to and after its acceptance by an applicant or student because of insufficient applications or registrations, over-acceptance of offers of admission, budgetary constraints, or for other such reasons. In the event the College exercises this right, the College's sole liability will be the return of any monies paid by the applicant or student to the College.
