Athletics Promotion Assistant- Bulletin Boards
Overview: Fanshawe College, under a partnership agreement with the Fanshawe College Student Union, competes in selected intercollegiate sports within the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (O.C.A.A.) and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (C.C.A.A.). Under the same agreement the college operates an extensive intramural athletics program involving over 5000 student athletes. The objective of this position is to contribute to the publicity and promotion activities of the Athletics Department, which in turn are aimed at maximizing student participation and enjoyment of all facets of the athletics programs.
Duties: Under the supervision of the Manager of Athletics or a designate, the incumbent posts promotional materials at the direction of the Athletics Customer Service Representative on designated Bulletin Boards or other internal and/or off campus locations. The incumbent assists in the preparation and posting of all promotional materials pertaining to the Student Athletics programs well in advance of the events. The incumbent may assist in the production and distribution of printed programs or periodicals.
Qualification: Along with being familiar with campus areas, applicants must be a full time registered student at Fanshawe College and be reliable in a program which is relevant to the above duties. Preference is given to students in programs such as the School of Art & Media Design (Corporate Communications, Business Marketing, Graphic Design or Recreation Leadership). Also, applicants must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and basic knowledge of marketing and public relations while working in a team setting.
Remuneration: The applicant will be paid the current minimum wage.
