(London, Ontario) – At the 2017-18 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Banquet in Barrie this morning, three Fanshawe Falcons were recognized for their excellence on the court this season.


Cole JordanOCAA Player of the Year, CCAA All-Canadian, OCAA West Division Scoring Champion and OCAA West Division First Team All-Star:  For the first time in Fanshawe Volleyball history, a Falcon was named the OCAA Player of the Year. Jordan (London, ON) led the Falcons offensively, averaging 4.8 points per set, giving him the title of OCAA West Division Scoring Champion. In 17 matches, he led the league in hitting percentage (.415), had 201 kills, 28 service aces and 15 blocks. Jordan led the Falcons to their first undefeated regular season in Fanshawe Volleyball history with a perfect record of 18-0. He was also named a CCAA All-Canadian and OCAA West Division First Team All-Star. Jordan is the OCAA's nominee for the CCAA Player of the Year award that will be named on March 7 as part of the CCAA National Championship Banquet.


Sam OttenOCAA West Division Second Team All-Star:  Otten (Delaware, ON), who is first in the OCAA in service aces per set (0.74) was a critical piece in the Falcons success this season. Otten averaged 3.6 points per set and set the Fanshawe Men's Volleyball record for most aces in a season with 35. He also added 128 kills and 6 blocks on the season.


Mike Liscumb OCAA West Division Second Team All-Star:  Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) has developed into one of the league's best middles this year, as he led the OCAA West Division in blocks per set this season with 0.68. Liscumb compiled 68 kills, 34 blocks and 7 aces in 16 matches.


The Falcons OCAA quarterfinal match takes place today at 3pm versus Fleming (11-8, 4th in East).
