(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Men's and Women's Cross Country teams climbed the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Rankings this week. The Men's and Women's Soccer squads remain in the rankings for the sixth consecutive week.


The Fanshawe Women's Cross Country team jumped to #1 in the nation after previously being ranked fifth. They finished first in last week's race at Centennial, their fourth consecutive race win of the season. The Women are led by Janelle Hanna (Peterborough, ON) who finished first overall at Centennial. Other OCAA Women's teams include Humber (7), St. Clair (10) and UTM (15).


The Men's Cross Country squad moved up one spot to #2 in Canada after winning their race at Centennial last week. The Men's team is led by Jordan Kadlecik (Grand Bend, ON) and Alastair Thompson (London, ON) who finished second and third overall respectively. Other Men's Cross Country teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Sheridan (6), St. Clair (7) and Humber (13). The Falcons Cross Country teams will look to continue their success on Saturday, October 28, when Fanshawe hosts the 2017 OCAA Cross Country Provincial Championships at the Fanshawe Conservation Area beginning at 11am.


The Men's Soccer team (7-0-2) stayed at #5 in the CCAA National Rankings this week. Fanshawe clinched the West Division title and a bye to the OCAA Championship with a 1-0 win over Mohawk last Saturday. Other Men's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Humber (1), Niagara (12), George Brown (13) and Algonquin (15). The Women's Soccer team (7-0-2) dropped two spots to #11 in the nation this week. They also secured the OCAA West title and a spot at the OCAA Championship on Saturday, when they tied Mohawk 1-1. Other Women's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Algonquin (2), Humber (6) and Cambrian (13).
