(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Falcons have four varsity teams that are ranked in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) top 15.
The Men's Volleyball team (14-0) moved up to #2 in the country this week and are #1 in the OCAA. The Falcons swept Sheridan (5-9) and Niagara (7-7) last week to extend their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 27 matches. Other OCAA Men's Volleyball teams that are represented in the CCAA rankings include Humber (7), Redeemer (9) and Georgian (10).
The Fanshawe Women's Volleyball team (12-2) remained at #12 in the CCAA after splitting games last week. The Falcons defeated Sheridan (8-6) 3-1 on Wednesday, before falling to Niagara (8-6) 3-1 on Saturday. Other OCAA Women's Volleyball teams ranked nationally are Humber (4) and St. Clair (15).
The Women's Basketball squad (12-2) is #15 in the nation this week after two huge wins over top West Division teams St. Clair (9-5) by a score of 71-59 and #9 Mohawk (13-3) by a score of 69-56. Falcons guard Chuot Angou (London, ON) was named OCAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals in the two games. Other OCAA Women's Basketball teams that are represented in the CCAA rankings include Humber (1) and Mohawk (9).
The Fanshawe Badminton team is ranked #13 in Canada and will be back in action February 2-3, when they travel to the University of Toronto-Mississauga for the OCAA West Regional. Other OCAA teams that are ranked include Humber (1), George Brown (4), University of Toronto-Mississauga (7), and Georgian (10).
