(London, Ontario) – Nathan McFadden, Manager of Athletics at Fanshawe College, was elected 1st Vice President of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) at their recently completed Annual General Meetings (AGM).
McFadden's role began at the conclusion of the OCAA's AGM on May 4 and will see him serve on the OCAA's Senior Leadership Council. He will also serve as the Vice Chairperson of the OCAA, Chair of the OCAA's Eligibility Committee, member of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Eligibility Committee, and be the Board Director and OCAA representative of the CCAA.
“I am honoured to serve our membership in this position and join such a respected group of leaders on our Senior Leadership Council,” said McFadden. “It is a privilege to serve in this role and be a part of our Association's continued success going forward.”
McFadden has led Fanshawe's Athletics Department since December, 2012. During that time, the Fanshawe Athletics program has increased their Varsity performance by 105%, accumulating a total of 82 medals, including 18 Provincial Championships and seven National Championships. The 2017-18 season was the Falcons most successful in their 51-year history, winning a combined 20 OCAA and CCAA medals including seven championships. Fanshawe currently supports 19 teams and over 200 student-athletes.
