(London, Ontario) – On Thursday evening, the Fanshawe Men's Basketball team (6-4) defeated the Lambton Lions (5-4) by a score of 84-67 to move into fourth place in the strong OCAA West Division.

The Lions opened the game with a shot from behind the arc, but the Falcons would quickly respond with a 3-pointer of their own from Chris Parker (Toledo, OH). Sean Clendinning (Orillia, ON) would then split two defenders and score a midrange jumper. The two teams would exchange baskets until a put back by D'Andre Austin gave the home team the lead. After the first quarter, Fanshawe led 19-14. Parker started the Falcons off in the second with a stop and pop bucket. A great pass from Jake Clendinning (Orillia, ON) resulted in a D'Andre Austin (Toronto, ON) and-1. Fanshawe extended their lead to 25-15 on another bucket and a foul from forward Lex Van Iperen (Englehart, ON). Lambton's 3-point shooting kept them within reach, but the Falcons held a 45-32 lead at half-time.

In the third quarter, Lambton would open with a 3-pointer. Fanshawe answered with a jumper from rookie Hanani Ujullu (Kitchener, ON). The Lions would hit yet another triple to cut Fanshawe's lead to nine points. The Falcons stepped it up midway through the third and went on a 12-0 run. Jake Clendinning would hit a big 3-pointer, followed by a massive Ujullu dunk. Parker would then have a nice drive to the basket for another two points. Fanshawe had a 70-49 advantage after three quarters, behind ten points from Ujullu. The teams traded points in the fourth quarter, but the Lions could not recover from their third quarter deficit. The Falcons won by a final score of 84-67.
