(London, Ontario) – At the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre on Friday evening, the Fanshawe Men's Basketball team (9-6) defeated the University of Toronto-Mississauga Eagles (2-14) by a score of 91-73.

The Falcons jumped out to a 4-0 lead with a steal and layup from Sean Clendinning (Orillia, ON). A strong drive by Xavier Ellis (Hamilton, ON) resulted in a bucket and a foul for Fanshawe. The Eagles stuck with the Falcons with back-to-back three-pointers, but the home team held a 21-13 lead after the first quarter. The Falcons extended their lead on a layup from Salim Bagabe (Waterloo, ON), followed by a tip-in from Chris Parker (Toledo, OH). At the half, the score was 40-30 in favour of Fanshawe.

In the third quarter, Parker hit a beautiful shot from behind the arc. Unfortunately, Fanshawe foul trouble kept the Eagles within reach. Two Lex Van Iperen (Englehart, ON) layups gave the Falcons a 63-50 lead going into the final frame. The fourth quarter opened with a stop and pop midrange jumper from Sean Clendinning. The fifth year shooting guard added five more points on a deep triple, followed by a pair of free throws. Parker sealed the deal with two foul shots of his own. Despite the Eagles best efforts, Fanshawe went on to win 91-73 and extended their winning streak to three games.
