(London, Ontario) – The #6 nationally ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (7-0) defeated the Boréal Vipers (0-7) on Saturday afternoon in three straight sets.


The Falcons started the game with two straight kills by Alec Bugler (London, ON) and Jacob Kloosterhof (South Hampton, ON). A killer serve by Sam Otten (Delaware, ON) extended Fanshawe's lead to double digits, 17-7. Boréal struggled to contain the red and white's high powered offense, and the Falcons went on to win 25-9.


Fanshawe maintained their momentum in the second set with back-to-back kills from Jared Bugler (London, ON) and Sam Otten. The Vipers stayed within reach with a couple of hits of their own. Falcons middle, Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) gave the home team a 3-point advantage, 14-11, midway through the set with a well-placed tip. Fanshawe would not let up, and pulled away to win the second set 25-16.


In the third set, the Falcons picked up where they left off and took an early lead. Kills from Alec Bugler and Jacob Scobie (Hamilton, ON) made the score 16-9 in favour of Fanshawe midway through the set. The Falcons would never look back and went on to win the third set 25-16 and ultimately took the match 3-0.


Fanshawe's Top Performers:

Alec Bugler – 9 kills, 4 aces

Jacob Kloosterhof – 6 kills, 2 blocks


Boréal's Top Performer:

Clayton Geedes – 4 kills, 2 blocks


Fanshawe will look to stretch their winning streak to eight when they host Cambrian (1-6) tomorrow at 3pm.
