Accounting - is this business career path right for you?

Careers in accounting are great for people who enjoy tabulating numbers, analyzing trends and making recommendations on courses of action to optimize financial success.

Where finance careers are focused on managing money, assessing risk and making plans, accounting is focused on recording transactions, reporting results and analyzing outcomes.

Accounting programs teach students to balance books across a variety of sectors, analyze numbers using accounting software and related skills such as writing for business and organizational behaviour. If you’re a numbers person and this sounds interesting to you, look into these programs:

Accounting Careers

There are many career opportunities in accounting, including:

You may also choose to pursue the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. The first step to acquiring this designation is to acquire a degree in accounting.
