Family Day is on February 17.
Our community at Fanshawe College is a vibrant hub filled with culturally diverse people who come from all over. Whether you’re from the London area or relatively new to our city, we are excited to share with you some awesome events that will be happening here on Family Day weekend. This year, the holiday heralds the beginning of reading week for our students at Fanshawe and it will be a chance to study, relax and have some winter fun. So grab your friends and come on out!
Events
1 Museum London
Spend a leisurely afternoon surveying scenes from a past era in Canadian history. Check out the current exhibition ‘The Lost City’ to view the rapid transformation of Saint John during the 1950s – 1970s.
2 Conjunto Starlight
If you love food and music with a Portuguese flair, then come out to Conjunto Starlight. The Azores Cultural Community Centre is hosting a dinner and dance on February 15. Come and enjoy an evening of live music and delicious Azorean food.
3 London Lightning vs. KW Titans
Are you a basketball fan? Get your tickets for the upcoming game ‘London Lightning vs. Kitchen Waterloo Titans’ at Budweiser Gardens on Feburary 17.
Activities
4 Boler Mountain
Come visit this popular destination for recreational sports. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, then this is the place for you. Boler Mountain offers guests a variety of skiing, snowboarding and tubing packages to choose from. Arrive early and hit the slopes for an action-packed and fun-filled day.
5 Neon Lights
Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park is a bouncing bombshell of boisterous fun! Bring your friends out on Saturday, February 16 at 9 p.m. and party under the Neon Lights.
6 Storybook Gardens
This popular spot for Londoners will host a ton of great activities all weekend long. Visitors can enjoy ice skating, a barbeque pancake breakfast, a ride in a horse drawn wagon and much more.
7 Family Fun Day
We guarantee you’ll have a wonderful time at the Museum of Archeology no matter what age you are. Take part in an array of activities including scavenger hunts, arts and crafts and outdoor hiking at this museum.
8 Paint Nite
Let your creative side out as you paint your own personal masterpiece. Come out to Winks Eatery on Sunday, February 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a night of cocktails, food and art.

9 Saturday Afternoon Tea
If you’re an aficionado of high tea, scones, sandwiches and sweetbreads, then you’ll love the delicious spread put on at the Idlewyld Inn & Spa. On February15, all the ladies and gents can enjoy refined cuisine at one of Ontario’s loveliest inns.
10 Family Day at Kinsmen Fanshawe Sugar Bush
Celebrate the great Canadian tradition of maple sugaring. Have fun while you learn about the process of maple syrup gathering and get a chance to experience it yourself.
