Learning Management Solutions (LMS)
CTS uses D2L Brightspace as our LMS platform which allows us to provide online courses and workshops on-demand, in a self-paced environment. All learning styles are accommodated and customized learning outcomes are created based on your specific needs or requirements. Each course can be completed on your own time and at your own pace.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Fanshawe CTS electronic Certificate of Completion as well as a digital badge that can be posted on individual LinkedIn profiles.

Business
HR Series: Dealing with Difficult People & Situations
Time: 6 hours
This course helps you to recognize the signs of escalating conflict and take appropriate action to minimize damage, with the goal of reducing the cost of conflict and improving business results. You will develop a powerful set of interaction skills that enables them to communicate more effectively, build trust, strengthen the team and achieve desired results.

HR Series: Building Consensus with Your Team
Time: 3 hours
You will learn about the importance of engaging employees and motivating for optimal results while meeting leadership challenges in a way that creates a mutually satisfying agreement on your team.

Intercultural Competency Advantage: Fundamentals of Intercultural Competency
Time: 3 hours
This course provides participants with the tools to identify and respect diversity, withhold judgement, and create common ground with colleagues. Participants are asked to critically examine their own culture in order to develop an understanding of the complexity of the social-cultural integration process. This module addresses individuals’ attitudes, knowledge, and behaviours for the purpose of developing intercultural competency using experiential and transformative learning approaches that are grounded in social theory.
Learning Outcomes
- Distinguish between terminologies within Values and Interpretations of Values, Culture and Intercultural Competency, and Cultural Values in the workplaces
- Evaluate their own biases, analyze a situation from multiple viewpoints, and select and use an alternative viewpoint
- Identify the culture and values of their workplace and analyze how they influence their intercultural competency at the organizational, group and individual levels
- Use intercultural competency tools when interacting with others in the workplace and beyond
Intercultural Competency Advantage: Effective Intercultural Communication
Our communication style is deeply affected by the – mostly unconscious – cultural lens through which we make sense of the surrounding world. That lens is usually a support while we interact with others. But it could become an obstacle when communicating with culturally diverse people. Through this course you will get tools and strategies to reflect on your communication style and adapt it, situation by situation, to make each and every interaction a successful experience.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify slang and jargon terms you use in your daily work activities and understand their impact on your ability to communicate with others
- How to recognize and deal with low -context and high-context communication styles
- Be more aware of your own communication preferences and what happens when you interact with people that use different communication styles

Intercultural Competency Advantage: Power Dynamics & Systematic Discrimination
Time: 3 hours
In this course, you will be able to use all the tools and strategies acquired from the first and second modules to analyze case studies that touch on several topics such as gender, sexual orientation, and religion.

Resiliency Series: Conflict Resolution
Time: 2 hours
Managing conflict is an essential skill in every workplace. In this course, participants will learn de-escalation techniques and understand the cycle of aggression, from both the client and the staff's point of view. This will help participants manage conflict and situations more effectively through body language, listening skills, and personal space.

Computer Software & Programming Series
Office Productivity: Windows 10 Introduction
Time: 2 hours
Windows' operating systems are the most used in the world, especially in the personal computer market. Familiarity and ability to leverage features in the newest Windows operating system is necessary in practically every occupation. This course will familiarize participants with key features of Windows 10 and teach tips and tricks for general use of the operating system.

Office Productivity Microsoft 365 Overview
Time: 3 hours
Microsoft's Office software suite has persisted as a market leader since its inception. Office 365 has brought the renowned product line to the cloud, so that users are able to access applications and store data from any device they log in on, as long as they have an internet connection. This course will familiarize participants with the interface and navigation of Office 365, as well as explain the included applications and provide some tips and tricks for use.
