The Winter 2020 Student Emergency Fund has now closed. The $1.5 million fund has been disbursed to 3,000 students to assist with immediate financial needs.
Due to overwhelming demand, Fanshawe was unfortunately not able to provide funding to all students who applied. We know that many students are still facing difficult circumstances and we want to share some information about additional opportunities for financial assistance.
Permanent Canadian residents will also be eligible to apply for two new federal programs. The Canada Emergency Student Benefit will provide $1,250 per month from May to August for eligible students. Students with disabilities and students with dependents would receive an additional $750.
The Canada Student Service Grant will help students gain work experience and skills while they help their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Returning students who choose to do national service and serve their communities will be eligible for up to $5,000 toward their education in the fall.
More information about government programs and bursaries is available at COVID-19: Financial Support for Students.
Fanshawe understands that the COVID-19 crisis has disrupted your life and we look forward to welcoming you back on campus when the threat of this pandemic has passed.
