Description of the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) levels chart:

There are 10 levels of EAP and each level takes eight weeks to complete. The levels are divided into three groups:

  1. Beginner: levels 1, 2 and 3
  2. Intermediate: levels 4, 5, 6 and 7
  3. Advanced: levels 8, 9 and 10

In order to enter a program at Western University, Brescia University College, Huron University College, King's University College, or any Fanshawe College health programs, you must achieve a minimum of 80% in level 10.

To enter any Fanshawe honours bachelor degree or graduate certificate programs, you must achieve a minimum of 75% in level 10.

To enter any Fanshawe diploma programs, you must achieve a minimum of 80% in level 8 and 75% in level 9 OR a minimum of 70% in level 10.

To enter Fanshawe's Business Fundamentals program, you must achieve a minimum of 70% in level 8.

A Newcomers Guide to Canada is taken in levels 9 and 10. This credit can be transferred to any Fanshawe diploma program as a General Education elective.
