Pharmacology

This course provides opportunities for Nursing students to learn the basic principles of pharmacology to understand how drugs enter and act in tissues. Pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions are discussed using exemplars of key drugs or prototypes within each drug classification, emphasizing therapeutic actions in the human body used to treat a variety of conditions. Registered Nurse's (RN) roles/ responsibilities and safe medication administration are focused upon enabling students to develop their critical thinking and critical inquiry skills in relation to drug therapy in certain health conditions.
