Designed to provide students with the essentials in the field of operations management. Students will examine the principles and practices of operations involved in businesses of varying size and complexity. Because todays business world is highly automated, you'll also learn to use information technology as it relates to operations.
Please note these courses are developed for students with prior post-secondary education or experience in operations management.

Students will develop workplace specific skills in production planning and scheduling; resource planning; supply chain management; materials management; marketing and sales; purchasing; project management and inventory management and complete an operations plan for one of the five key sectors.

Operations Managers need to work effectively with employees at all levels across the organization. In this course, students are introduced to human resources management principles and practices; the legal context of human resources; attracting and selecting new hires; employee development; and employee relations with specific emphasis on the operations management function within organizations.

In this course, the principles of effective leadership and management are examined with an emphasis on developing strategies for effectively managing groups of people. Situational leadership strategies will be analyzed with a view toward leading organizations through periods of change.
