Personal Support Worker Bursary

Bursary overview

The LHIN Personal Support Worker Bursary was created to support students interested in pursuing a career as a Personal Support Worker in the in-home and in-community care sectors within the Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth, Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties.

Eligible students will receive full tuition towards first and second semester costs, up to a maximum of $5,000.

Who is eligible?

All full-time students, who complete an application, are enrolling in the Personal Support Worker program at Fanshawe College, and who meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrates financial need;
  • Plans on pursuing a career as a Personal Support Worker in an in-home or in-community care setting, within the Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth, Middlesex, Oxford, and Elgin Counties, for a minimum of 12 months, following graduation;
  • Submits a brief description, answering why they have chosen Personal Support Worker as a profession, and their career plans upon graduation (include preferred work setting and location within Ontario).

Winter 2020 intake: September 17, 2019 to January 17, 2020.
Summer 2020 intake: January 15, 2020 to May 15, 2020.
