Photo of Kim Maich and Carmen HallIn partnership with the Thames Valley Children's Centre, City of London Department of Community Services, Neighbourhood and Children Services, HEHPA (a subcommittee of Child and Youth Network), Reach for the Rainbow, Autism Ontario, and Brock University, Fanshawe College developed a project aimed at pioneering the TRACKS program within a camp setting.

The TRACKS system is a peer-mediated social skills program that aims to teach and encourage typical campers to interact with campers identified as having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Certain social skills are taught to the campers and evaluated throughout the camp session for their retention and utilization.

This project was conducted over two summer camp sessions in 2011 and 2012 with a favourable response from both camp counsellors, and parents with children in the program. Results from the program have been highlighted in journals, magazines and conferences on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
