Sharmistha received her Bachelor’s of science in Economics, at the University of Calcutta, in India. After her Bachelor of science, Sharmistha received her Master of Science Degree in economics, also at the University of Calcutta. Then, Sharmistha achieved her Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Oregon State University.
Sharmistha experience has been teaching in the Higher education industry, Sharmistha has been a lecturer at, the University of Waterloo. Also, at Mount Royal University, in Calgary, Alberta. Sharmistha was an Assistant Professor at the Fairleigh Dickinson University, in the Silberman College of Business. In Vancouver, BC. Through these teaching opportunities, the courses she has taught are International business, International trade, and Micro and Macro Economics. Sharmistha Joined the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business, at Fanshawe College, in August 2017, where she is able to continue her passion for teaching with helping students apply knowledge; by bringing relevant examples and facts into her teaching philosophy.
