Shannon has an interdisciplinary background in law and industrial relations.  Shannon graduated Western University (LL.B.), Queen’s University (M.I.R.), St. Mary’s University (Ph.D.), and York University (LL.M.).   

After practicing labour and employment law in Ontario and Nova Scotia, Dr. Webb turned her focus to academia.  She teaches, and is the Coordinator for, the Human Resources Management Graduate certificate program.  In this program she primarily teaches employment law and industrial relations to university graduates.  She also teaches graduate level courses in the Masters of Industrial Relations program, and in the EMPR Certificate program, at Queen’s University.

Dr. Webb’s main research interests focus on empirical studies of labour and employment law issues.  Her current focus is on the expedited arbitration process where the research examines the impact of arbitration process on the results in dismissal cases. She is also conducting an empirical analysis of the case law subsequent to the Dunsmuir decision.
