Six Sigma Methods
The point of departure in this course is the classic DMAIC model devised and refined by Motorola and GE respectively. It exposes students to an organized framework wherein an array of statistical tools necessary to improve quality within the service or product environment are introduced. Students begin with charter documents and follow the problem-soling process on through to implementation and control. Foundational statistical methods are followed by more advanced techniques including designed experiments, regession methods, analysis of variance and design for six sigma. Statistical methods will be modeled on computers where applicable. The course contains both asynchronous activity and also live, synchronous delivery of a bi-weekly tutorial.
