Early Development & Relationships

This course explores research and theories of development from preconception throughout the first three years of life. Attachment, emotional well-being and individual differences in experience, temperament, strengths and areas requiring strengthening are analyzed through observation, documentation and by examining case studies. Trust, autonomy and positive self-concept are emphasized as the foundation for secure, responsive and respectful interactions and guidance strategies.
