Curriculum Development 3

In Curriculum Development III, students will use the principles and guidelines of curriculum development to design developmentally appropriate and inclusive programs for preschool and school age children. Emphasis will continue to be placed on the roles of play, creativity, literacy and inclusiveness in the development of curriculum which addresses all areas of children’s development - physical, cognitive and social/emotional. (Areas of exploration will be specific to children between birth and 12 years.) Within this age range a variety of subjects related to the cognitive domain will be studied. Individual, small and large group activities (gatherings) will be investigated as well as emergent curriculum and week-long program planning. This course is offered through OntarioLearn by the host college, Durham college.
